What is Informal Learning?
Informal learning is learning from day-to-day activities (Lohman, 2005; Beausaert et al, 2016).

- On-the-job learning
- Engaging in workplace mentoring
- Learning through trial and error
What is Formal Learning?
Formal learning is learning through an educational program, institution or training centre which, usually results in some sort of qualification (Ahlgren et al, 2011).
It can include:
- Classroom training
- University Course
- Organisational training
